The River that Flows Both Ways

A Movie Script About the Early History of New Netherland & New York During the Period 1609-1624: The River that Flows Both Ways.

In 1614, Dutch traders overcame every obstacle, working with Native American communities to lay the foundation for a cen- ter of trade used by every nation on earth, a single spot where even old rivalries are laid aside for the sake of mutual and sustained prosperity. Today, this heritage is embodied in the North- American-European Free Trade Agreement, the biggest such agreement in history.

This agreement didn’t just appear out of a blue sky, but rather has its roots in 1613 and the creation of the trading post at Fort Nassau, which also laid the foundation for New York City, and in many ways shaped the development of the United States.
